Why Did I Receive an Account Closure Notice?
Checkr Pay closes accounts that are inactive for more than 90 days. Inactive accounts have not had any transactions posted in 90 days.
Transactions that we look for include:
- Payouts from the gig platform company you partner with. These could include payouts to your Checkr Pay bank account or, if you opted into Direct Deposit, any payments sent directly to your external banking account
- ACH transactions that either credit money into or debit money from your Checkr Pay account
- Debit card transactions
What Happens Next?
- We will send 2 account closure notices to your on-file email address. The first is a "Pending Closure" email and the second confirms that your account has been closed.
- After the Pending Closure notices is sent to you, there is a 14-day window when your account will remain accessible. During this time, you can initiate any transaction (such as those outlined above) to prevent your account from closing.
- If you do not take action in the 14 days, Checkr Pay will close your account and cancel your Visa Debit Card. A check will be sent to your registered mailing address for any balance that you have left in your Checkr Pay account.
I want to take a job with my gig platform partner. Can I re-open the account?
Checkr Pay can re-open the account for you. If you are going to re-engage with your gig platform partner, reach out to us at the Checkr Pay Help Center and we can assist with getting your account re-established. At the time that your gig partner issues a new payment, Checkr Pay will issue a new Visa Debit Card for you as well.
